Job summary

Canyon View in Ogden, Utah, within Weber School District, is seeking a Lifeskills Paraprofessional for the LIFE Program. The position is 180 days, non-exempt, 5.75 hours per day (28.75 hours/week), starting immediately, and funded by grants or student enrollment-based funding.

Responsibilities include supporting teachers, adapting lessons, assisting with daily living skills, performing clerical tasks, and supervising students in community and classroom settings.

Qualifications

• Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures for extended periods.
• Safely manage physical or verbally aggressive students.
• May require working with bio-hazards (blood borne pathogens, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom work under the direction of the teacher to reinforce lesson plans.
• Assists in job coaching activities to support teachers and student success.
• Implements curriculum and behavioral programs under teacher supervision to improve academic outcomes.
• Records relevant information/data about learners and monitors student safety.
• Assists with daily living skills and transports students as needed.
• Performs record keeping and clerical functions to support teachers/administrators.
