Job summary

Spring Branch ISD is looking for a Special Education Teacher Assistant for Lifeskills to support teachers and students in special education classes. This role requires assisting in instructional programs and maintaining student records.

The ideal candidate must have at least 48 college hours or a high school diploma with an Educational Aide Certification and the ability to work with children using appropriate interpersonal skills. Knowledge of physical assistance for students with disabilities is also necessary.

Responsibilities

• Assist in carrying out the instructional program under the supervision of teaching personnel.
• Help maintain student records and audit folders.
• Assist in helping students with self-care activities.

Skills

Ability to work with children using appropriate interpersonal skills

Fluent in English (verbal and written)

Background related to working with children and parents

Physical capacity to lift 50 lbs.

Bus driver training as needed

Education

Minimum of 48 college hours or high school diploma/equivalent
