Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Part Time Paramedic for weekend shifts in Bloomington, IN. You will provide advanced prehospital care, transport patients to facilities, and communicate patient status to receiving teams. Strong focus on safety, compliance, and written documentation is required.

The role requires Indiana Paramedic licensure with ACLS/BLS/PALS, EVOC or equivalent, and NIMS courses within probation. One year ALS experience is preferred; weekend availability is essential.

Qualifications

• ACLS;BLS;PALS;EMT-P Indiana Paramedic license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire.
• Additional certifications (ACLS/PALS EVOC) to be obtained as listed.
• NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800 to be obtained within probation.
• Minimum 1 year ALS Paramedic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care, transport, and treatment of ill/injured patients in emergency and non-emergency situations.
• Relay and receive information regarding patient condition and needs.
• Comply with regulatory requirements, policies, and hospital operating within Paramedic scope.
• Possess knowledge to manage neonatal through elderly patients.
• May drive ambulance and/or transport patients as needed.
• May obtain consents and record ambulance run time; assist with billing and daily reports.

Paramedic Chase. Responsible for the care, transport, and treatment of ill/injured patients in both emergency and non-emergency situations. Responsible for relaying and receiving information regarding the patient and patient condition. Responsible for complying with all regulatory requirements, departmental policy and practice, safety policies and practice, hospital policies, and operating within the scope of a Paramedic as defined by the state of Indiana. Must possess the required knowledge and skills to appropriately care for and manage neonatal, infant, pediatric, adult, and elderly patients. May be required to drive ambulance to and from referral hospital. May be required to transport patients. May be required to obtain consents and authorizations from patient or legal guardians. May be required to record time of ambulance run. May be required to process billing and daily reports.

A valid driver’s license and Motor Vehicle Record report may be required for this role. Consideration of employment for this role may be contingent upon the results of the Motor Vehicle Record report.

• Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent required. ACLS;BLS;PALS;EMT-P Indiana Paramedic license required.

• NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800 to be obtained with initial probationary period.
• Minimum of 1 year ALS Paramedic experience preferred.
• Ability to make independent, clinical and operational competent decisions in a challenging environment.
