Responsibilities

• maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the water;

• provide emergency care and treatments until EMS arrive;
• ability to act quickly and appropriately to secure patron safety in emergencies;
• perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Applicants must hold a current ARC Lifeguard Certification and CPR/AED/FA Certification. Appointment is conditional upon fingerprinting clearance through the State Education Department.

Description

The lifeguard is responsible for providing a safe environment for all participants in and around the pool including:

• maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the water;


• identifies and works to prevent potential accidents;


• enforces all pool rules;


• provide emergency care and treatmentsrequired until emergency medical services arrive;


• able to act quickly and appropriately to secure the safety of patrons in the event of an emergency;


• perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
