Job summary

Bangor Region YMCA is seeking lifeguards to join our team. We value professionalism, reliability, and a positive, energetic attitude to help keep our members and their children safe around water.

We offer part-time and full-time positions with a flexible schedule and will cover the cost of Lifeguard Certification after interview and approval. You’ll gain training opportunities and make a real difference in our community daily.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 15.
• Is punctual and dependable.
• Ability to stay calm and think clearly in stressful situations.
• Certifications: CPR/AED, First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen Administration.
• Current YMCA or American Red Cross Lifeguard certification.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
• Create a safe environment, in which all individuals feel welcomed and respected.
• Build relationships with, and among, members and program participants.

Our Lifeguards support the organization’s mission by intentionally welcoming members into the Y Community, connecting them with others, and maintaining certification-level physical and mental readiness to keep our community members safe.

Part-Time & Full-Time positions are available with a flexible schedule.

We will train any interested and qualified applicants, including covering the cost of their Lifeguard Certification after completing the interview and approval process.

• Certifications: Professional rescuer CPR/AED, first aid, and emergency oxygen administration
• Current YMCA or American Red Cross Lifeguard certification.
