Job summary

Forest Lake YMCA is seeking a Lifeguard In-Training for morning and weekday shifts. The role includes paid training and certification, with a path to the Lifeguard salary upon completion, and a free Y membership.

You will shadow certified lifeguards, learn safety procedures, and prepare for required certifications within 90 days of hire. Reports to the Aquatics Director and emphasizes member safety and service.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 15.
• Certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Patience and the ability to communicate with all ages and levels of swimmers.
• Demonstrated ability to swim in shallow and deep water, and tread water (Stage 5 level).

Responsibilities

• Shadow and assist lifeguards and learn programming and emergency procedures.
• Know, understand, and communicate pool policies and procedures clearly.
