The Salvation Army's Ray & Joan Kroc Community Center is hiring a Lifeguard & Swim Instructor and offers the following benefits:

Pay Range: $19.00/hr
The Lifeguard/Swim Instructor is responsible for patron safety, teaching water fitness, swim lessons, and private lessons.
Education/Certification Requirements
- American Red Cross Certification in Lifeguard, CPR/AED/FA for the Professional Rescuer
- Willingness to complete Park Lifeguarding course
- Meet the Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Community Center of Boston skill standards
- Dependable, alert, and able to interact positively with people of all ages and backgrounds
- American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification
Work Experience
- Experience as a certified lifeguard and instructor required
Qualifications
- Ability to work in an office/pool environment with diverse staff
- Knowledge of Microsoft Applications or similar desktop tools
- Good interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, communication)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Lifeguard Instructor and Water Safety Instructor Certifications
- Water Exercise Instructor Certification
- Ability to instruct diverse groups of learners
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure patron safety at all times
- Act quickly and correctly during emergencies
- Create positive experiences and promote safety
- Follow emergency procedures
- Educate patrons on rules and policies
- Participate in training and staff meetings
- Maintain safety and report incidents
- Instruct swimming and water safety courses
- Maintain alertness and surveillance
- Wear designated uniform and equipment
- Complete required trainings
- Perform other duties as assigned
