The Lifeguard’s primary role is to ensure the safety of patrons and coworkers by constant surveillance of the pools, recognizing and preventing hazardous behaviors, inspecting pool areas for potential problems and hazards, taking appropriate action, and watching for unusual activity in and around the pool areas. Secondary duties include maintaining pool chemistry logs, cleaning and maintaining the pool areas, assisting with setup and teardown of class areas, and greeting and assisting members. Lifeguards are required to attend all Lifeguard In-Services, Aquatics, Club, and Company meetings, and work holidays and all Aquatics-related events.
Work primarily outdoors in a fast-paced environment requiring vigilance, focus, and quick reaction to emergencies. Proper precautions against environmental elements are necessary.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, perform tasks involving moving pool furniture, hauling equipment, and lifting boxes. Extended hours outdoors and safety precautions are required.
