Job summary

The YMCA Lifeguard position at the Trussville Branch in Trussville, AL 35173 is a part-time role offering $14.00 hourly. Join a team dedicated to safety, service, and community impact.

You'll monitor swimmers, enforce rules, respond to emergencies with CPR/AED First Aid, monitor water quality, and keep the pool area clean. Provide friendly member service and collaborate with Aquatics Leadership to open/close daily operations.

Qualifications

• Must hold current YMCA or American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification (CPR/AED & First Aid).
• Ability to swim 300 yards continuously.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant surveillance of swimmers to ensure a safe environment.
• Enforce pool rules while delivering welcoming service.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and provide lifesaving care when needed.
• Monitor and record pool chemical levels to maintain water quality.
• Keep deck and surrounding areas clean and hazard-free.
• Assist members with questions and provide outstanding customer service.
• Open and close the facility and participate in daily tasks.
• Collaborate with Head Lifeguards and Aquatics Leadership.
