Job summary

Juneau Pools is hiring a Lifeguard for the Augustus Brown Pool team in Juneau. Under supervision, you will monitor swimmers, enforce rules, respond to emergencies, and provide care while keeping the facility clean.

Minimum qualifications include ARC Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR, and being at least 15 years old. Typical hours span early mornings through evenings, with potential shifts at Dimond Park Aquatic Center.

Qualifications

• Certified as American Red Cross Lifeguard or the equivalent.
• First Aid and CPR certificates.
• Age of at least 15 at time of appointment, and eligible for a General Duties Work Permit if under 17.
• Note: Some positions may require WSI or other specialized certifications.

Responsibilities

• Monitor swimmers and respond to situations where safety is at risk.
• Enforce pool rules and maintain a safe environment.
• Provide care to guests who may be injured or experience a medical issue.
• Keep the facility clean and assist with winter snow removal if needed.
• During rotations, stay on deck for up to an hour and support safe operation of aquatic attractions.
