Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a Lifeguard to help ensure a safe pool and aquatic environment. The role emphasizes alertness, attention to detail, professional conduct, and a friendly attitude to reassure guests.

Shifts vary; pools are open seven days a week. You will greet guests, monitor water quality, supervise the pool, enforce rules, maintain logs, and perform routine cleaning and upkeeping of pool areas.

Qualifications

• Active CPR/First Aid/AED certification required (NYC CPR annually)
• No degree required
• Ability to work varying shifts and weekends

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome customers who come to use the pool and related amenities
• Take water readings and adjust chemicals as needed
• Supervise the pool and pool area at all times while on shift
• Enforce pool rules and ensure safety
• Keep detailed daily logs of water readings and bathers
• Close the pool and take remedial action for hazards
• Organize logs for monthly submission
• Maintain pool deck cleanliness and perform side work
