Job summary

The City of Columbia is seeking a Lifeguard Supervisor to oversee pool operations, monitor swimmers and ensure patron safety. Responsibilities include enforcing rules, teaching swim lessons, conducting daily lifeguard briefings, and maintaining rescue equipment to ensure water safety.

Candidates must hold a current American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR certification, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid SC driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Some relevant prior experience.
• Valid South Carolina Class D Driver’s License.
• Valid American Red Cross certificate in Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR.

Responsibilities

• Monitors pool activities and supervises lifeguards.
• Teaches swim lessons and performs water rescues as needed.
• Enforces pool rules and regulations.
• Conducts daily lifeguard briefings.
• Maintains pool safety and rescue equipment.
• Attends briefings with Head Lifeguard.
• Works mornings, afternoons, evenings and/or weekends.
• Completes incident reports and safety documentation.
