Job summary

The City of Columbia is hiring a lifeguard to ensure the safety of swimmers and pool patrons, performing water rescue, CPR, first aid, and routine pool maintenance.

Essential duties include enforcing pool rules, testing water quality, reporting incidents, and assisting the pool manager and staff. Weekend and holiday work is required, with a focus on public safety and courteous service to the community.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard Training Certification, CPR & First Aid required.
• Strong lifesaving and emergency skills essential.
• Good verbal communication with patrons and staff required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the safety of patrons in and around the pool.
• Perform First Aid and CPR when required.
• Enforce all pool regulations in a professional manner.
• Test water quality and report imbalances to supervisor.
• Assist the pool manager and lifeguard team as needed.
• Work weekends and holidays as scheduled.
