Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles seeks a part-time lifeguard for Culver Palms Family YMCA in Culver City, CA. You will maintain safe swimming conditions, monitor the pool and deck, and enforce safety rules to protect members.

The role requires being at least 16 years old, holding current YMCA Lifeguarding (or equivalent), First Aid and CPR certifications, and providing reliable, attentive supervision. Shifts are up to 29 hours weekly with mandatory trainings.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Current YMCA Lifeguarding certification or equivalent, plus First Aid/CPR.
• 1–2 years lifeguard experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous, uninterrupted scanning of pool and aquatic area.
• Enforce safety rules and YMCA policies.
• Perform equipment checks and ensure safety gear is available.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and communicate with staff.
• Maintain accurate records and reports as required.
