Job summary

The Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan is seeking a reliable, friendly Lifeguard to join our Aquatics team. The Lifeguard will monitor swimmers, enforce safety rules, respond to emergencies, and provide excellent customer service to members and guests.

Afternoon, evening, and Sunday availability is required. This role operates in a community-focused setting dedicated to safety and inclusivity, with training and growth opportunities within a mission-driven organization.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Lifeguard Certification including Lifeguard Training and Professional CPR AED.
• Strong customer service skills
• Evening and Sunday availability required.
• Team oriented and safety-focused.

Responsibilities

• Greet members and guests at the pool deck by name when possible.
• Check in members and guests into the pool area.
• Provide information clearly and courteously.
• Ensure pool safety and respond to emergencies.
• Keep locker rooms clean and report hazards.
• Open/close facility as scheduled and maintain records.
