Job summary

Butler YMCA is hiring a Lifeguard (Opener) for their Butler, PA facility. This regular part-time role requires opening shifts from 5:15am to 11:00am and focuses on maintaining safe swimming conditions and a welcoming environment for members.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard certification and related rescue training required.
• CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid certifications required.
• Oxygen Administration certification required within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant surveillance of pool areas.
• Follow emergency procedures per YMCA policies.
• Foster positive relationships with members and staff.
• Enforce safety rules for pool and aquatic areas.
• Keep accurate records as required by YMCA and Health Dept.
• Conduct equipment checks and ensure availability of safety gear.
