Job summary

The Town of Snowmass Village is seeking a lifeguard to join our Parks, Recreation and Trails team. This is an in-person, part-time role responsible for poolside and water safety duties and monitoring activities to ensure patron safety.

Ideal candidates will have knowledge of aquatics rules, water safety practices, first aid and CPR, plus the ability to communicate effectively in writing. Perks include sick leave accrual, a ski pass recreation benefit, and access to an Employee Assistance Program.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of aquatics facility rules and regulations.
• Water safety practices, rules and guidelines.
• First aid and CPR certification.
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Lifeguard; observe patron activities; enforce rules; eject patrons for infractions; monitor patrons to prevent incidents.
• Perform first aid as needed to assist injuries; conduct water rescues when necessary.
• Maintain alertness to minimize incidents; perform routine pool upkeep and cleaning.
• Record accidents, rescues, water temperature and chemical testing; report unsafe conditions.
• Respond to patron complaints and escalate to supervisor as needed.
• Provide high level of professionalism and customer service per staff expectations.
