Job summary

The City of Aspen Recreation Department is seeking a Lifeguard (Recreation Attendant) to supervise the indoor pool and ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patrons.

Intermittent role: less than 29 hours per week, evenings and weekends may be required. Must hold current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification or be able to obtain it, and have a valid Colorado driver's license or obtain one within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Age requirement of at least 15 years at hire.
• Current or ability to obtain American Red Cross Lifeguard certification.
• Valid Colorado driver's license or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Monitor swimmers and enforce pool rules to maintain a safe environment.
• Respond to emergencies per the Emergency Action Plan; perform water rescues and first aid as needed.
• Maintain daily inspections, keep facility clean, and report unsafe conditions.
• Record daily pool chemistry readings and patron usage counts.
• Support organizational values and assist with routine operations as needed.
