Job description

Do you have a passion to be a first responder? We are looking for Lifeguards to provide a safe environment while our Guests enjoy our aquatic areas at the Walt Disney World Resort. If you are interested in this challenge, apply today!

Pay Rate: in Florida, $18.25 per hour for Shallow Water Lifeguards, and $19.25 per hour for Deep Water Lifeguards.

Responsibilities:

1. Monitor Guests in aquatic/pool areas with constant surveillance to ensure safety.
2. Act as a first responder to emergency situations.
3. Perform lifesaving techniques, CPR, and first aid procedures.
4. Stand for long periods while monitoring the pool deck.
5. Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
6. Maintain cleanliness of the pool deck by removing towels, life jackets, and trash.

Basic Qualifications:

1. Must be at least 18 years old.
2. Availability for full-time work including weekends and holidays; or for part-time, any 3 days including evenings.
3. Strong observational skills to identify Guest needs and safety compliance.
4. Effective verbal communication skills.
5. Pass vision (20/25) and hearing screenings at hire.
6. Lifeguard training provided and must be completed successfully.
7. Ability to lift Guests up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
8. Swim 50 yards, retrieve a 10-pound brick from 5 feet depth.
9. Physical ability for heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and kneeling.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Previous Lifeguarding or Swimming Instructor experience preferred.
2. Bilingual skills preferred.

Schedule Availability:

Shifts vary, some starting as early as 5:00 am and ending as late as 5:00 am the next day, depending on the role. Scheduling follows seniority principles.
