Job summary

One Vision Wellness Center in Clear Lake, IA is seeking a dependable Part-Time Lifeguard to help keep our pool area safe and welcoming for members, guests, and residents receiving services. You will monitor the pool and spa, perform routine water testing, and assist with events and swim lessons.

We provide no-cost Lifeguard Certification, CPR, and First Aid training, and offer flexible scheduling with evening availability.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Strong swimming abilities with tested endurance and skills.
• Willingness to complete Lifeguard Certification, CPR, and First Aid training.
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required.
• Must pass background checks and screenings.

Responsibilities

• Monitor pool and spa areas to maintain a safe environment.
• Perform routine water testing and document results.
• Maintain cleanliness in pool, locker rooms, and common areas.
• Build positive relationships with members and guests.
• Assist with swim lessons, parties, and events.
• Respond to emergencies and safety concerns.
• Support daily Wellness Center operations as needed.

What You'll Do

As a Lifeguard, you'll help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone who visits the Wellness Center. Your responsibilities will include:

• Monitoring pool and spa areas to maintain a safe environment
• Performing routine water testing and documenting results
• Maintaining cleanliness throughout the pool, locker rooms, and common areas
• Building positive relationships with members, guests, and visitors
• Assisting with swim lessons, birthday parties, and special events
• Responding appropriately to emergencies and safety concerns
• Supporting daily Wellness Center operations as needed

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old
• Strong swimming abilities, including:
  • Swimming 300 yards using freestyle and breaststroke
  • Treading water for 2 minutes without using hands
  • Retrieving a 10-pound object from 7-10 feet of water and returning it within required time standards
• Willingness to complete Lifeguard Certification, CPR, and First Aid training
• Previous experience working with or supporting individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required
• Must pass required background checks and screenings

No lifeguard certification? No problem. We'll provide the training and certification you need at no cost to you.
