YMCA of San Diego County is seeking a Lifeguard to protect members at our aquatic facilities. You will monitor activity, enforce pool rules, and respond swiftly to emergencies while delivering friendly service.

We offer paid certification training for new hires and flexible 15-20 hour schedules, including 4:45am openings on weekdays and 6:45am on weekends. Join a team upholding the YMCA 4 Core Values and enjoy employee perks.

Formación

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Current YMCA or Red Cross Lifeguard Certification (must crossover to YMCA within 6 months).
• Current CPR PRO/AED from one of: American Red Cross, American Heart Association or American Safety & Health Institute.
• Current First Aid certification (First Aid for Public Safety Personnel within 11 months) from one of: American Red Cross, American Heart Association or American Safety & Health Institute.
• Current O2 certification from one of: American Red Cross, American Heart Association or American Safety & Health Institute.
• Must pass written and practical skills exam prior to duty.

Responsabilidades

• Practice preventative lifeguard techniques at all times.
• Positioned to have full view of the area of responsibility above and below water surface; 180-degree coverage maximum.
• Scan area every 5 to 10 seconds and respond within 10 seconds of a victim in need.
• Remain within 2 feet of the pool at all times and perform rescues when required.
• Administer First Aid and/or CPR as necessary; report hazards to the Director.
