Job summary

Samost Jewish Family and Children's Service of Southern New Jersey is seeking an Early AM Lifeguard to provide supervision at the JCC pools. You will ensure the safety of patrons while maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the pool areas.

The role requires American Red Cross Lifeguard certification and CPR/AED/First Aid certifications. Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on departmental needs. Mandatory in-service trainings are to be attended.

Qualifications

• American Red Cross Life Guarding certification required.
• CPR / AED & First Aid certifications essential.

Responsibilities

• Lifeguard the assigned pool/area.
• Maintain proper records of pool chemicals.
• Assist pool members to ensure safety and enjoyment.

Job description

The Katz JCC Early AM Lifeguard provides supervision for the JCC pools and assures the safety of the patrons of the indoor/outdoor swimming pool and surrounding areas.

Fall Day Shift Hours: 9AM - 4PM

Job Responsibilities

• Lifeguard the assigned pool/area
• Maintain proper records of pool chemicals
• Report any pool chemical changes to a supervisor
• Maintain the pool and deck area at all times (clean/safe)
• Assist the pool members in any way necessary to ensure both their safety and an enjoyable visit to the JCC pool
• In the event of an emergency, it may be necessary to fill out accident reports and pool records, this must be done in a timely fashion and reported to a supervisor
• To maintain Lifeguard / First Aid / CPR / AED training and to use these skills when necessary
• Attend all mandatory in-service trainings
• Additional responsibilities may be added periodically based upon the needs of the F & W department or the Katz JCC

Required Experience

• American Red Cross Life Guarding certification
• CPR / AED & First Aid certifications
