All eligible applicants are encouraged to apply.****Essential Functions:***** Maintains constant surveillance of the pool area.* Knows and reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with WFU policies and procedures. Completes related reports as required.* Greets and is professional with all patrons and departmental staff.* Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies, and guidelines for the pool and aquatic area.* Performs equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available as needed.* Checks the pool for hazardous conditions when arriving and departing from each shift.* Attends all staff meetings, in-services, and training as required.* Wears the proper lifeguard uniform.* Never leaves the pool unattended.* Remains alert and focused on the pool area while on duty.* Reports any needs or concerns to the Coordinator of Aquatics.* Performs additional tasks deemed necessary by the Coordinator of Aquatics, other Professional staff, and the Campus Recreation Executive Director.* Always represents WFU in a highly professional manner.****Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:***** Minimum age of 16.
