Job summary

MVP Athletic Club-Rockford in Rockford, MI is hiring a Lifeguard to ensure member safety across the aquatics facility. You will enforce pool rules, monitor activity, and respond to emergencies under the Aquatics Manager supervision.

Applicants must hold current American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED or equivalent certifications; YMCA or Ellis and Associates lifeguard credentials are acceptable. Strong swimming and rescue skills, weekend/holiday availability, and training willingness

Qualifications

• Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certification required or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Willingness to obtain Water Safety Instructor certification preferred.
• Excellent water rescue skills and ability to perform lifeguarding duties to standard.

Responsibilities

• Enforce pool rules, MVP policies, and local/state regulations.
• Monitor pool activity and respond to emergencies, coordinating EAP as needed.
• Wear lifeguard equipment and stay rescue-ready while on duty.
• Inspect facilities daily and report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Communicate member concerns to supervisor and log them.
• Maintain aquatic areas and restrooms, assist with custodian tasks.
• Promote swim lessons and aquatics programs.
