Job summary

MVP Sports Clubs in West Michigan is seeking a dedicated Lifeguard to ensure the safety of our aquatics facility members. You will enforce pool rules, respond to emergencies, and maintain clean, well‑equipped aquatic spaces as part of the Aquatics Department.

Ideal candidates hold current American Red Cross Lifeguarding and First Aid certifications, with water rescue skills and strong communication. This role supports group swim lessons and works with the team to deliver a safe, welcoming

Qualifications

• High school diploma or 16 years and older.
• Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
• Or the following Lifeguard Certification: YMCA Lifeguard, Ellis and Associates Deep Water Lifeguard, Boy Scouts Lifeguard.
• Excellent water rescue skills and First Aid abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work flexible hours.
• Preferred: American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification.

Responsibilities

• Proactively enforce pool rules and MVP policies.
• Actively scan the pool and monitor safety concerns.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate EAP at pool area.
• Wear lifeguard equipment and stay rescue ready on duty.
• Inspect aquatic facilities daily and report unsafe conditions.
• Communicate concerns to supervisor and log them.
• Maintain aquatic areas and restrooms; perform custodian duties.
• Conduct water chemistry tests as required.
• Promote group swim lessons and aquatic programs.
• Attend Service Game training sessions as directed.
