Job summary

The Salvation Army Great Lakes Division is seeking a Lifeguard in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Under the supervision of the Aquatics Manager, you will monitor swimming activities, provide assistance and enforce safety regulations, and offer first aid when necessary. Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness in pool areas and assisting with swim lessons. Required qualifications include being at least 16 years of age and having lifeguard training, with additional certifications preferred. Qualifications

• Preferred experience as a lifeguard.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• American Red Cross certifications required before start of employment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor activities and assist swimmers to ensure safety.
• Enforce pool rules and maintain order in swimming areas.
• Provide first aid and rescue breathing when necessary.
• Inspect pool areas for cleanliness and safety.
• Assist with swim lessons and general maintenance.
