Job summary

The City of Golden is hiring Lifeguards for its Aquatics facilities. This role involves guarding lap/leisure pools, enforcing pool rules, and providing rescue and first aid as needed.

Shifts include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays at either the Golden Community Center Aquatic facility or Splash Aquatic Park. Qualifications include being at least 16, swim ability, excellent customer service and communication skills, and current Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR/AED certifications.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age by date of hire.
• Must demonstrate ability to swim and perform the requirements of a lifeguard.
• Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Must possess all current certifications required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Guard lap and/or leisure pool and supervise guests.
• Rescue guests in distress and administer first aid as necessary.
• Maintain pool and deck areas in safe condition; monitor water chemistry.
• Educate guests about pool policies and safety rules.
• May teach in Learn to Swim program at the Golden Community Center or Splash Aquatic Park.
• Other duties as assigned.
