Essential Functions
- Maintain active surveillance of the pool area.
- Review emergency procedures and respond promptly to incidents, completing required reports.
- Respond to challenges with solutions in a timely manner.
- Understand and enforce safety rules and guidelines.
- Stay calm under pressure and handle challenging situations professionally.
- Keep accurate records as required.
- Perform equipment checks and ensure availability of necessary equipment.
- Inspect the pool for hazards upon arrival.
- Conduct chemical testing and take appropriate actions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Minimum age of 15.
- Certifications: CPR/AED, First Aid, Emergency Oxygen, and YMCA Lifeguard or equivalent.
- Complete all required training by deadlines.
- Support child abuse prevention policies, report hazards, and complete necessary training.
- Maintain physical and mental readiness for lifeguarding.
- Demonstrate lifeguard skills according to YMCA standards.

- Meet physical requirements necessary for lifeguarding.
- Hear distress signals and remain alert at all times.
- Observe all areas of responsibility effectively.
