Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a lifeguard to supervise pool facilities and ensure patron safety. Responsibilities include constant vigilance, emergency response, and maintaining a clean pool area.

You will monitor the sauna, steam room, and whirlpool areas, enforcing rules and reporting issues to management as needed. Must be ready to respond quickly in emergencies and assist with safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age or older and in high school.
• Current lifeguard training certification and CPR/AED Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the designated facility.
• Rescue and provide immediate care in emergencies following safety procedures.
• Keep pool deck and surrounding areas clean and orderly.
• Monitor sauna, steam room, and whirlpool to enforce safety rules.
• Report maintenance issues and safety concerns to the supervisor.

Job Description

Upholds the ability to sense and predict an abnormal situation, maintaining preventative care at all times. Speaks with authority when warning patrons about rule violations or safety concerns and reports any conflicts to manager when necessary. Acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of an emergency. Exhibits quick thinking in emergency situations, using proper emergency techniques during rescue until the arrival of emergency medical services. Will work with growth and development needs of unique client populations. Responsible for maintaining pool chemicals and adjusting chemicals as needed. Expected to keep the pool deck clean. Supervises the sauna, steam room, and whirlpool attendance, ensuring proper rules and regulations are being followed for the overall safety of patrons and members. Reports maintenance issues when necessary.
