Job summary

Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA is seeking a part-time Lifeguard to help keep our pool area safe and welcoming for members and the community.

You will monitor the pool and deck, enforce safety rules, respond quickly to emergencies, and assist with pool water chemistry and safety procedures. Current lifeguard certification is required; previous lifeguard experience is preferred. Flexible scheduling and a friendly team environment are offered.

Responsibilities

• Enforce safety rules and guidelines at the pool and surrounding areas.
• Maintain active surveillance of the pool, deck and adjacent spaces.

As a YMCA Lifeguard, you'll help ensure the safety of swimmers through active surveillance of the pool, deck, and surrounding areas. Key responsibilities include enforcing safety rules and guidelines, maintaining emergency preparedness, responding quickly and effectively to emergencies, monitoring pool water chemistry, and building positive relationships with members, participants, and fellow staff.
