Full Job Description:

Franklin County is currently accepting applications for the following lifeguard position at the Smith Mountain Lake Community Park, located at 1480 Parkway Avenue in Moneta, VA 24121. These are considered Seasonal positions with a timeframe of May 24 until September 1. Benefits do not apply to Seasonal positions.

Responsibilities:

• Safeguards and regulates the conduct of patrons to prevent unsafe practices and accidents by strictly enforcing policies, rules, and regulations.
• Assists in preparing and maintaining records.
• Handles rescues and provides first aid.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Must be a current student or a High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
• Must obtain Lifeguard Certification offered by the County of Franklin (approximately 30 hours of training).

Required uniforms and supplies will be provided. Applicants must be available to work the full season from May to September.
