Southern Ohio Medical Center is seeking a Lifeguard to provide a safe and high-quality environment for members and patients in the aquatic areas. The role requires staying prepared to respond to life-threatening situations and to maintain cleanliness and safety across the aquatic spaces.

The incumbent will greet patrons, supervise swimmers, perform regular pool maintenance, test chemicals, and ensure adherence to safety policies.

Qualifikationen

• Basic literacy skills required
• BLS/AED for the professional rescuer within 90 days of hire required
• Previous lifeguard experience preferred

• Performs weekly chemical tests and logs results.
• Carries out regular pool maintenance including backwashing and vacuuming.
• Maintains clean aquatic environment and assists in locker room upkeep.
• Demonstrates understanding of the automatic pool system and pool heating system.
• Demonstrates ability to rescue a bather and to troubleshoot chemical deficiencies or surpluses.
• Oversees and enforces pool-appropriate behavior and maintains supplies for the pool system.
• Performs weekly eye wash station test.

GENERAL SUMMARY

The lifeguard works under the supervision of the Wellness Operations Manager. The Lifeguard's primary job is to provide a safe and high quality environment for members and patients while being prepared and able to respond to life threatening saving situations. The lifeguard is responsible for the upkeep, cleanliness and safety of all who are present in the aquatic areas.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Basic Literary Skills required

Licensure

• BLS/AED for the professional rescuer within 90 days of hire required

Experience

• Previous experience as a Lifeguard preferred

JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

The following is a summary of the major job duties of this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

• Greets all members and patients entering aquatic area.
• Supervises bathers and swimmers using pool. Assures that all users use pool safely and do not jeopardize other swimmers.
• Provides coverage on deck while there is at least 1 person in the pool.
• Performs chemicals test regularly and logs results.
• Performs regularly scheduled pool maintenance including backwashing and vacuuming.
• Maintains clean aquatic environment. Regularly cleans decks, hallways, empty soiled linen cart, pool office and water equipment.
• Assists LIFE Center Service Reps in upkeep of locker rooms.
• Demonstrates understanding of the automatic pool system.
• Demonstrates understating of pool heating system.
• Demonstrates ability to rescue bather.
• Demonstrates ability to troubleshoot chemical deficiency or surplus.
• Demonstrates the ability to oversee and enforce pool appropriate behavior.
• Maintains adequate supplies and aquatic chemicals for the automatic pool system.
• Performs weekly eye wash station test.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
