Job summary

Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa in Orlando, FL is seeking a Lifeguard to ensure guest safety through vigilant surveillance, prompt emergency response, and maintenance of clean pool areas. The role requires strong swimming, physical stamina, and willingness to participate in in-water trainings.

Preferred certifications include American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, and AED. Candidates must pass background checks and be eligible to work in the United States.

Qualifications

  • Lifeguard must be expert swimmer and physically fit.
  • Preferred certifications in American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, and AED.
  • Strong ability to recognize unsafe and hazardous situations and react properly.
  • Must enter the water and participate in regular in-water trainings.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Work in wet, humid, outdoor conditions and sun exposure.
  • Smoke-free workplace; background check and eligibility to work in the United States required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain constant surveillance of pool/water park areas and monitor guests for distress.
  • Render emergency care and contact EMS when needed.
  • Keep pool and water park areas clean and sanitary.
  • Maintain detailed incident and activity reports during shifts.
  • Attend scheduled in-service safety trainings.
  • Be a team player and assist colleagues as required.

Job Description

As a Lifeguard, you will:

  • Ensure the safety of all guests by maintaining constant surveillance, continuously scanning the pool or water park area, and monitoring guests for signs of distress or unsafe behavior.
  • Render emergency care and, if necessary, contact emergency medical services to ensure prompt and appropriate assistance for guests in need.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the pool and water park areas to create a pleasant and sanitary environment for the guests.
  • Maintain detailed activity reports to document incidents, observations, and any actions taken during the shift.
  • Attend scheduled in-service training to stay updated on the latest safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Be a team player and assist your colleagues with their duties as required.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion and lift and/or move up to/over 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Must be able to work in wet, humid, and outdoor weather conditions and extreme heat and sun exposure.
