Job summary

The Ahern Hotel & Convention Center in Las Vegas is seeking a Lifeguard to join our team. You will open and close the pool, monitor guest activity, and respond to emergencies with trained CPR and first aid.

This role requires customer-focused service, a minimum of 6 months lifeguard experience, and current lifesaving certifications. You will maintain pool cleanliness, monitor water quality, and enforce safety policies during shifts, including weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 years.
• At least 6 months lifeguard experience.
• Current Lifesaving, CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Strong swimming proficiency in all water types.
• Knowledge of safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

The Ahern Hotel & Convention Center is seeking a Lifeguard to join our team!SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIESThe Lifeguard is responsible for opening and closing the pool, monitoring activities related to the pool area, identifying any safety issues throughout the shift and performing water rescues and first aid.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSGreet guests arriving in the pool area, providing the highest level of customer service.Ensure the safety of swimmers.Monitor activities in the pool area.Perform rescues and render CPR, artificial respiration & first aid as necessary.Open and close the pool each day according to scheduled hours.Maintain cleanliness of the pool area.Periodically check water quality.REQUIRED EXPERIENCEMust be at least 18 years of age.Minimum of six (6) months of lifeguard experience.Current lifesaving, CPR and first aid certifications.Swimming proficiency and comfort in all types of water conditions.Knowledge of safety policies and protocols.PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTSContinuous sitting, standing and walking throughout the duration of each shift.Pushing, pulling, bending and stooping frequently.Bending, lifting, and carrying up to 35 pounds without assistance.Ability to enter the pool, rescue distressed swimmers, remove them from the pool and provide immediate medical assistance.Constant face-to-face interactions with customers, requiring speaking and a professional demeanor.Maintain a near, well-groomed appearance.Ability to multi-task and remain positive in busy working conditions.WORKING CONDITIONSFor Part-Time employees, expect to work hours as needed / potentially a staggered shift including weekends and holidays.Exposure to extremes in weather and temperature.Comply with the brand and hygiene policies.
