Job summary

The City of Lake Forest is seeking Lifeguards for the Forest Park Beach 2026 season. Applicants must hold a valid American Red Cross Lifeguarding & Beach Certification and be available Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend.

Duties include ensuring patron safety, enforcing policies, and reporting incidents. Position runs Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend with benefits such as fitness center access, paddle board/kayak rentals, and golf discounts.

Qualifications

• Must have valid American Red Cross Lifeguarding & Beach Certification.
• Able to work weekends and holidays.
• Available Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the safety of beach patrons.
• Prevents injuries and minimizes hazardous situations.
• Enforces all facility policies, rules and regulations.
• Acts in emergencies and stays with victims until help arrives.
• Responds to patron concerns and inquiries professionally and documents incidents.
• Records and maintains detailed reports.
• Maintains facility cleanliness.
• Performs safety inspections.

Job description

The City of Lake Forest is looking for qualified, individuals to serve as Lifeguards during the Forest Park Beach 2026 season.

Lifeguards must have a valid American Red Cross Lifeguarding & Beach Certification.

Lifeguards will be staffed Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend.

• Ensures the safety of beach patrons
• Prevents injuries and minimizing hazardous situations
• Enforces all facility policies, rules and regulations
• Acts in any emergency situation and staying with victim until help arrives
• Responds to patron concerns and inquiries in a professional manner, and documents incidents/injuries
• Records and maintains detailed reports
• Maintains facility cleanliness
• Safety inspections

• A VALID American Red Cross Lifeguarding & Beach Certification
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays
• Must be available from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend
