Base pay range

$11.96/hr - $11.96/hr

Lifeguard Job Responsibilities

• Supervise swimming activities at the aquatics facility and ensure safety policies and procedures are followed.
• Warn swimmers of improper activities or danger and enforce pool regulations and water safety policies.
• Administer first aid, rescue swimmers in distress, and perform CPR and/or artificial respiration if necessary.
• Evaluate safety conditions and initiate emergency action plans as required.
• Inspect pool facilities, equipment, and water quality to ensure safety and usability.
• Maintain cleanliness of pool areas and assist with facility and equipment maintenance.
• Work at special events and rentals, including evenings and weekends.
• Attend mandatory meetings and in-service training as directed by the Aquatics Supervisor.

Working hours are Monday through Sunday, 4:45 AM – 11:45 PM, with flexible scheduling available. Benefits include a free membership to The Pointe.

Lifeguard Qualifications and Skills

• Ability to evaluate water conditions and identify potential hazards.
• Adjust programs to ensure visitor and staff safety.
• Proficiency in swimming and comfort in all water conditions.
• Ability to assess and respond to evolving situations involving aquatic participants.
• Knowledge of safety protocols, operational procedures, and emergency medical services.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements

• Working towards a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification (including CPR/AED, First Aid, Oxygen Administration, and Water Park Skills) or ability to pass required training courses.
