Position Summary

The University of Denver is seeking motivated and qualified lifeguards to start this summer season. Lifeguards play a crucial role in the safety and health of the DU community.

Note: This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.

Essential Functions

• Prevent and respond to emergencies quickly and appropriately.
• Enforce all rules and regulations to prevent emergencies.
• Perform daily maintenance to ensure safety and health of patrons and facilities.
• Attend scheduled quarterly inservices for proper training.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Willingness to learn and follow facility-specific health and safety procedures.
• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods while maintaining focus.
• Effective and professional communication with faculty, staff, and patrons.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum age of 16 years.
• Current American Red Cross lifeguard certification or willingness to obtain one.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous lifeguarding or aquatics experience.

Work Schedule

Flexible shifts from 7:45am to 8:30pm, including weekends and holidays.
