Overview

Mercy Street is currently taking applications for energetic, confident, and friendly staff to work in our Aquatics department as a Lifeguard. The Lifeguard will work in conjunction with Mercy Street teams in providing a safe, fun, relational, and excellent experience for learning basic water safety and swimming. The position is temporary, part-time, hourly, with flexible shifts.

Education, Skills & Experience

• Current Lifeguard & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain it—training available)

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties

• Maintain constant surveillance over the pool area, ensuring safety
• Assess hazards, ensure equipment is functional
• Respond to emergencies using established procedures
• Enforce safety rules respectfully and clearly
• Test and balance pool chemicals, maintain safety records
• Build relationships with kids and families, reflect Christ’s love
• Support other activities as needed
