Job summary

COUNTRY CLUB OF BIRMINGHAM is seeking a seasonal lifeguard to oversee pool safety and deliver excellent patron service at the Birmingham facility. You will assist with risk management, emergency response, and daily pool maintenance during shifts that include weekends.

Requirements include being at least 16, having lifeguard training if possible, and a willingness to attend in-services and work varied shifts. This role involves active customer engagement and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training certification preferred but not required.
• Willing to work weekends and holidays.
• Ability to handle customer service issues.
• Basic computer competency.

Responsibilities

Job description

Job Location: 3325 COUNTRY CLUB RD 500 - BIRMINGHAM, AL 35213. Position Type: Seasonal. Salary Range: $13.50 - $14.50 Hourly.

Reports To: Aquatics Director

Essential Responsibilities

Assist with the oversight of the pool within CCB, including but not limited to risk management, patron oversight, customer service, emergency response, proper documentation, facility/area upkeep and assistance as requested by the Aquatics Director or other professional staff.

Specific Responsibilities

• Work two shifts every other weekend
• Work a minimum of 2 shifts per week
• Perform all necessary lifeguarding skills, as certified by American Red Cross
• Must attend TWO in-services a month as required by the American Red Cross
• Respond to all medical and non-medical emergencies in the pool area
• Responsible for offering an outstanding customer experience
• Ensure that all risk management measures have been taken
• Monitor the safety of swimmers and sun bathers
• Setup/tear down for events
• Complete assigned cleaning duties of pool - vacuuming, scrubbing, skimming the pool, etc
• Completion of all documentation as described in Employee Manuals
• Display teamwork amongst coworkers via shift coverage and reciprocation, etc
• Other duties as assigned

Professional Competencies

Work Environment

• Several hours on feet/walking around
• Moderate to loud noise

• Assisting in event setups requiring lifting exceeding 30 lbs
