Job summary

Pine Tree Country Club in Birmingham, AL is seeking a part-time Lifeguard to ensure swimmer safety and deliver excellent guest service in a hospitality setting.

The role requires at least two years of lifeguarding experience and current CPR/First Aid and water safety certifications. You will supervise pool areas, assist with lessons, maintain facilities, and help organize activities for members.

Qualifications

• Two years of lifeguarding experience required.
• CPR and First Aid certifications, plus Water Safety/Instructor certifications, required.
• Regular and reliable attendance is expected.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and observes swimmers at all times to ensure safety.
• Administers first aid to minor injuries such as cuts and bruises.
• Maintains cleanliness of changing rooms, bathrooms and showers.
• Assists in organizing clinics and private swimming lessons for members as directed by department manager.
• Enforces the rules of conduct.
• Performs pool maintenance including checking chemicals and vacuuming.
• Checks first aid supplies and reports needed items to management.
• Organizes and monitors pool games; suggests pool-side activities.
• Skims bugs and debris from surface and prepares pool for daily use.
• Cleans pool area at the end of the day.
• Maintains necessary records as directed by the department manager.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.

Key Responsibilitiesof the Lifeguard:

• Assists in organizing clinics and private swimming lessons for members as directed by department manager.

• Performs pool maintenance to include checking chemicals and pool vacuuming.
• Checks the first aid supplies and reports needed items to management in a timely fashion.
• Organizes and monitors pool games at all times; suggests pool-side games.
• Skims bugs and other debris from surface to prepare pool for daily use, empties automatic skimmer.
• Cleans up and organizespool area at the end of the day.
• Maintains all necessary records determined by the department manager.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.

Minimum Qualifications for the Lifeguard:

• Minimum of two(2) years of lifeguarding experience.
• CPR, First Aid Certification, various Water Safety/Instructor Certifications required.

Other Qualifications:

Regular and reliable attendance.

Knowledge of accepted sanitation standards and applicable health codes.
