Job summary

YMCA of Centre County is seeking a part-time Lifeguard for our Bellefonte facilities to ensure a safe, enjoyable environment for swimmers of all ages.

You will monitor pools, enforce rules, and respond to emergencies while providing excellent communication with patrons. Competitive hourly pay, 403(b) plan, and certification reimbursement are offered along with free YMCA membership and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• Some high school education required.
• Current Lifeguard Certification (or ability to obtain certification).

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant vigilance of the pool area and respond proactively to swimmers in distress.
• Enforce pool rules and communicate effectively with youth and adults.
• Stay calm and provide clear direction in emergency situations.
• Keep the pool and deck area safe and free of hazards.
• Assist with pool cleaning duties, including vacuuming and other assigned tasks.
• Maintain physical readiness to perform all American Red Cross lifeguard rescue skills.

The Bellefonte YMCA is currently accepting applications forpart-time Lifeguardsto help maintain a safe and positive environment in our indoor pools.

We’re looking for dependable staff to fill the following shifts:

• Monday & Wednesday 2:45 PM – 7:45 PM
• Tuesday & Thursday 3:45 PM – 7:30 PM
• Friday 3:45 PM – 6:30 PM
