This is a 100% remote role, but you must reside in an ISSA-eligible state: AZ, CT, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, MN, NC, NV, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WI.

What We’re Looking For: We are seeking a creative and data-driven Lifecycle Marketing Specialist to lead lifecycle marketing strategies and execution across the entire customer journey, from lead generation to student engagement and retention. This role will drive cohesive nurture and engagement campaigns via email, SMS, and other owned channels, ensuring both prospective and current students are supported, informed, and inspired throughout their experience with ISSA.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Plan, design, and execute automated and manual email/SMS campaigns tailored to each lifecycle stage—supporting lead nurturing, student onboarding, course engagement, and retention goals.
- Develop and manage multi-stage nurture campaigns for new leads, onboarding sequences for new students, and re-engagement flows for dormant users.
- Define and optimize communication strategies that guide users through the full lifecycle, from initial awareness through enrollment, engagement, and renewal or upsell.
- Partner with product and customer success teams to surface timely and relevant content that supports student progress and success.
- Design and manage customer journey maps and lifecycle segmentation strategies.
- Use data to identify lifecycle gaps and opportunities for automation or intervention.
- Collaborate with brand teams to optimize cohort communication strategies, including determining bonus structures and coordinating webinar-related promotions.
- Lead webinar scheduling and coordination, including appearances by graduates, and ensure that all webinars are properly promoted and updated on the website.
- Content Strategy: Continuously optimize email and SMS communication strategies for different cohort groups to increase engagement and retention.
- Analyze and track campaign performance metrics (open rates, CTR, conversions) to assess effectiveness and drive continuous improvements through A/B testing.
- Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure all campaigns comply with CAN-SPAM laws and other email/SMS best practices, such as list segmentation, personalization, and deliverability.
What is ISSA looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 2-3+ years of professional, high-output experience in email marketing and campaign management, ideally within a B2C environment.
- Experience building and optimizing nurture campaigns and automated customer journeys.
- Working knowledge of customer journey mapping tools or CRM systems with automation capabilities (e.g., HubSpot workflows, ActiveCampaign, Salesforce Marketing Cloud).
- Familiarity with lifecycle segmentation and marketing funnel stages (TOFU, MOFU, BOFU).
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Eagerness to learn obsessively about consumer psychology & high-performing copywriting techniques
- Strong knowledge of email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Klaviyo, HubSpot) and CRM systems.
- Proficiency in HTML/CSS for email template customization and design.
- Experience with SMS marketing and familiarity with relevant tools.
- Strong copywriting and graphic design skills, with the ability to create engaging, on-brand content for a health and wellness-focused audience.
- Excellent attention to detail, with experience managing campaign communications and scheduling webinars.
- Ability to analyze and interpret campaign data to inform strategy improvements.
- Familiarity with email and SMS compliance regulations (e.g., CAN-SPAM, GDPR).
