Job summary

Inova Well in Northern Virginia seeks a Life Support Instructor 4 to join our PRN team. The role teaches ACLS and/or PALS, supports the American Heart Association Training Center, and delivers high-quality instruction to health-system staff and community professionals.

The ideal candidate holds current AHA ACLS and/or PALS instructor cards, has clinical EMS/RN/RT experience, and is available to teach 1–2 days per month with 25 hours per quarter minimum.

Qualifications

• Must hold current American Heart Association ACLS and/or PALS instructor cards.
• Clinical background in EMS, RN, LPN, RT, or similar settings.
• PRN schedule with availability for 1–2 days per month.

Responsibilities

• Teaches ACLS and/or PALS classes to healthcare professionals.
• Performs administrative functions per program policies.
• Ensures equipment is maintained and working.
• Maintains professional status to ensure quality education.

Inova Well is looking for a dedicated Life Support Instructor 4 to join our team. This role will be PRN, Days Vary

The Life Support Instructor 4 teaches Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and/ or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). This role supports the Inova Health System/ Inova Well American Heart Association Training Center, teaching ACLS and or PALS classes while providing the highest quality learning environment and educational instruction for the health system and community healthcare professionals.

Life Support Instructor 4 Job Responsibilities:

• Teaches Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) classes.
• Performs necessary administrative functions in accordance with educational program policies.
• Ensures equipment is will maintained and in working order.
• Maintains professional status to ensure the highest quality educational programs.
• Adheres to AHA and Inova Health System/ Inova Well Training Center policies and procedures.
• Teaches a minimum of 25 hours per quarter, although the ideal candidate will be available to teach 1-2 days per month.
• Maintains excellent records and organizes classes.
• Adheres to AHA and Inova Health System/ Inova Well Training Center policies and procedures.
• Certification: Must hold a current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Instructor Card and/or a current American Heart Association Pediatric AdvancedLife Instructor Card upon start.
• Experience: Must have experience in working in a clinical setting for example; EMS, EMT, RN, LPN, RT etc.

PRN Shift Availability:

• PALS - Classes are typically 1-2 times each month for 2 consecutive days, usually on Wednesdays and Thursdays
• ACLS – Classes are usually 1 day weekly or 2 consecutive days a week for 2-day classes, 2-3 times a month (average minimum of 6 days a month)
