Job summary

PathPoint is seeking full-time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for its Life Skills Plus day program in Simi Valley, CA 91360. The role involves leading in-person, community-based, and virtual classes focused on art, music, cooking, volunteering, and more.

You will teach social and life skills to help adults with developmental disabilities gain independence. The position offers a starting wage of $26.00 per hour with a pay range of $24.70–$27.30 and a schedule from Monday to Friday,

Qualifications

• Must have a valid California driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors.
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Teach individuals social/life skills to help them lead more independent lives, including communication, mobility, money management, housing, and public transportation.
• Teach individuals vocational skills to help prepare them for entry-level employment.
• Supervise individuals during hours of instruction and on community outings and volunteering.
• Build rapport with individuals and act as a positive role model for work habits, communication and social skills.
• Prepare weekly schedules, monthly training projections, and written progress reports.
