Job summary

East Penn School District is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support Life Skills students at Wescosville Elementary School. This 29-hour-per-week, 10-month role focuses on providing one-on-one or small-group support, classroom management, and implementation of positive behavior plans.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, CPR/First Aid certification, and either two years of post-secondary study or an associate degree; PDE Para Educator Credential is also acceptable.

Qualifications

• Experience in an educational setting preferred.
• Must acquire CPR and basic first aid certification, and
• Meet one of the listed educational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce skill development with individuals or small groups as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Monitor and direct activities for students as directed by the classroom teacher.
• As needed, assist with students' physical needs under supervision.
• Observe and supervise students in cafeteria, hallways, library, classrooms, and buses.
• Perform clerical duties such as copying, laminating, or answering phones as assigned.
• Maintain a safe, positive educational environment and support behavior plans.
