Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet Washington State Paraeducator minimum requirements (Associate degree, 72 credits, or qualifying assessments).
• Background check through Washington State Patrol and Safe Schools training.
• Proficient in English communication, both written and verbal.
• Ability to learn new skills, stay organized, and manage time effectively.
• Demonstrated flexibility, good judgment, and the ability to work with diverse groups.
• Willingness to complete restraint/de-escalation training as needed.

Responsibilities

• Administers tests, assignments, and make-up work to support certificated staff.
• Assist students individually or in groups with reading and math activities to reinforce learning.
• Attend meetings and trainings to stay aligned with instructional goals and provide input on student progress.
• Guide students in independent study and support planned lessons.
• Implement instructional programs under supervision and maintain organized records and materials.
• Monitor students in various settings to ensure safety and positive learning environment.
• Perform clerical tasks and communicate observations to staff as needed.
• Respond to emergencies and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Support teachers and other certificated staff in curriculum implementation.
