Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have 72 college credits, a degree, or pass the ETS assessment.
• Experience working with students in individual or small group settings.
• Knowledge of education fundamentals; familiarity with current curriculum preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with teaching team following lesson plans.
• Prepare and assemble teaching materials as requested.
• Assist teachers with supervision and classroom tasks.
• Administer tests and evaluate student work with teachers.
• Communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
• Help students with reading, math, writing and self-help skills.
• Follow and implement behavior plans.
• Use interventions to manage misbehavior.
• Assist with de-escalation and safety as needed.
• Take directions and work independently.
• Demonstrate empathy toward students.
• Remain calm and flexible in challenging situations.
• Help develop positive behavior patterns.
• Observe and record student behavior and performance.
• Learn and use various software and assistive tech.
• Supervise students to maintain a harmonious environment.
• Oversee student movement on campus.
• Maintain safety and good judgment.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records.
• Enforce school and district policies.
• Maintain rapport with students and teachers.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
• Monitor and respond to district email.
• Adapt to changes in schedule and location.
• Accept responsibility for duties and outcomes.
• Collaborate with staff and maintain professionalism.
• Maintain punctuality and attendance.
