Job summary

Thrive In Dignity LLC is seeking experienced Direct Support Professionals to provide Life Skills mentoring for individuals with IDD. This 1-on-1 role takes place in the community, not a facility, and offers meaningful impact and growth opportunities across the Tr-Cities area, including Kingsport.

Responsibilities include coaching in home management, advocacy, community participation, social skills, and data collection for progress reports.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Experience supporting people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
• Strong and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coach, teach, and mentor individuals in home management, personal independence, individual rights, and self-advocacy.
• Advocate for each person’s needs and welfare in the home and community.
• Encourage community integration and participation by attending local events and activities.
• Support social skills development through engaging activities and communication exercises tailored to individual needs.
• Collect and document data on client progress, behavior patterns, and skill acquisition for reporting.
• Maintain positive relationships with family, conservators, team members, and partners.
• Adhere to scheduled shifts and maintain accurate clock-ins/outs.
