Job summary

Evolution Independent Living (IL) seeks a Life Skills Coach (Part-time) to support youth aged 18-24 in independent living housing across the metro Boston area. You will provide case management, teach life skills like budgeting, cooking, medical appointments, and drive a trauma-informed ARC approach, collaborating with clinical and admin teams.

Must be 21+, bilingual Spanish encouraged, valid driver’s license, and able to work evenings/holidays; benefits include health, 401K, and tuition

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years or older and able to work evenings, holidays, weekend shifts.
  • Experience with older youth and young adults in mental health settings is preferred.
  • Bilingual candidates able to read, write and speak Spanish are encouraged to apply.
  • Active driver’s license and strong communication skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide case management to teach youth to navigate community resources and post-discharge supports.
  • Teach life skills including driving, medical appointments, budgeting, cooking and job searching.

Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to come join our team as a Life Skills Coach (Part-time) at Evolution Independent Living (IL) ! We are an independent living program that houses young individuals from 18-24 years old in small efficiency-type apartments or shared-living housing throughout the Metro, Boston, Central, Northeast and Southeast DCF regions.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $19.00 to $25.00 per hour. The listed range reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting the position. The actual compensation an employee is offered may vary based on several factors such as experience, education, licensure, certifications and qualifications. This range may be modified in the future.

JRI Provides Training So That:

  • You will provide case management to youth to teach them to navigate community resources, make referrals, secure adult services/benefits, and secure a network of permanency and providers post-discharge.
  • You will teach life skills that include driving, medical appointments, acquiring legal docs, budgeting, cooking, education, volunteering job searching/maintenance, community resources and classes, and communication skills.
  • You will utilize trauma-informed care throughout the program by specializing in ARC (Attachment, Regulation, and Competency) framework.
  • You will work in collaboration with the clinical team and administration team to make decisions regarding client treatment.

Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Experience working with older youth and young adults in a mental health setting and trauma-informed care is preferred.
  • Bilingual candidates able to read, write and speak Spanish proficiently are encouraged to apply!
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats.
  • Must have general computer skills and strong financial literacy skills.
  • Available to work evenings, holidays, weekend shifts as required.
  • Must have an active driver’s license.

  • Background and driving record checks will be performed.
