Job summary

Verland seeks a Life Skills Trainer to work closely with an Individual in a residential setting, with potential sessions at Main Campus for paid work programs. You will provide direct supervision and assist with daily living skills, hygiene, mealtime procedures, and self-management, while supporting leisure and formal programming.

The role requires collaboration with the Interdisciplinary team, memory care and psychiatry as needed, and attendance at IPP/EA meetings.

Qualifications

• Ability to work with individuals who may exhibit non-compliant and/or inappropriate behavior.
• Must maintain an excellent attendance record.
• Must successfully complete offered training.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop training programs to teach life skills and safety routines.
• Redirect and assist with daily living skill duties for the individual.
• Document progress daily using individualized methods.
• Implement goals and program objectives.
• Collaborate with team to create daily routines and safety plans.
• Work with Psychiatry and Memory Care teams as needed to optimize care.
